Welcome to gypsy spirit botanicals
Gypsy Spirit Botanicals LLC is a woman-owned herbal product business based in Red Oak, Oklahoma.
We’ve been making herbal soaps, body care products, teas, and so much more, for over 15 years.
Let’s face it, being a modern woman can get a bit overwhelming. Some of us are out trying to change the world; some of us may have partners and kids; and some of us are trying to do it all. We can have it all, but we don’t have to do it all alone. Sometimes we all need a little help.
You're a strong, fierce women and you need to take time out for some self-care; time to unwind, relax, let go of today, not think about tomorrow, just bask in the moment, and breathe. This is what helps you to get back out there and conquer the world!
That’s where Gypsy Spirit Botanicals comes in.
My products are made by hand in SE Oklahoma in my soap shed. I source locally grown ingredients when I can (love supporting small businesses!) , and mix my fragrances in house from natural plant essential oils.
My name is Amy Wardlow and I’ve been making soap and bath goodies for myself, family and friends for about 15 years.
When making my soaps and herbal body products, not only do I want you to be transported to your happy place, I want to be sure that what you are putting on your skin is safe and nourishing as nature intended. Because you deserve that!
So. If you’re looking for beautiful, richly scented, all natural soap and skin care products, look no further.
Now that we’ve met, let’s stay in touch. I like to send out an email every other week(ish) to let you in on what’s going on here-- specials, new products, events we are attending – that sort of stuff.
Pull up a chair, join us for a nice cup of tea (or a great glass of wine) and let’s chat about nourishing your wild gypsy side.
why handcrafted soap
People ask, “Why should I buy your handmade soap when I can get more soap for less money at the supermarket?”
That’s a valid question.
Next time you walk down the soap aisle at your favorite store enjoying the fresh, clean scents and the bright colorful packaging, pick a few up and read the ingredient labels. They are filled with unfamiliar chemicals, additives, and detergents. Most products on the shelf don't say 'soap' on their labels. They might be called beauty bars, moisturizing bars, or body bars, but not soap. That's because your typical “commercial” soaps are actually detergents that include petroleum products, harsh chemical hardeners, and foaming agents. Most commercial soap manufacturers remove the glycerin that is produced during the saponification (soap-making) process and sell it to cosmetic companies who use it to make lotions and moisturizers. Without glycerin soap will dry your skin.
The absolute best reason to use handmade soap is because you are worth it. You need everyday self care time and let's face it, for most of us that is a nice long, hot, fragrant soak in the tub. So it makes sense that you want the products you use to be made with the best ingredients.
Our soap is created using the age-old cold process method of soapmaking which results in a bar rich in conditioning glycerin. We use the very best skin loving vegetable oils, butters, clays, herbs that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients that are essential to healthy skin. The glycerin that is created during the soap making process, a precious emollient, softens and maintains water balance by attracting moisture to your skin. Our handmade soap retains all its natural glycerin glory. Each of our soaps are made with organic extra virgin olive oil and then we add other vegetable-based oils and butters to produce a super-rich lather, creamy texture, conditioning, long lasting and delightfully fragrant bar of all natural soap. Once you have tried our handmade products, you will feel the difference!
